Indian Ocean

On Yacht  L'esCargot
Chagos Archipelago

The Existence of these islands is known to a small group of people, mainly sailors and researchers. They are located about 20 degrees south of 'The Maldives'. They are totally uninhabited except for a few people that control an American military base on the Island 'Diego Garcia'. Otherwise all other islands are laid in peace as a world national park. But who owns this paradise?? They belonged to the French before the war, and was run as a slave colony, however after the war they came under English flag, and has remained so until now. Since nobody lives there I can’t explain how fascinating the diving is there. Completely untouched by human hands. And that's why the sailors call it the last paradise on earth. If you want to get there you must sail for at least 5 days, starting out from 'The Maldives', on your own boat that is since there is no commuter traffic to or from the Islands. I had the pleasure of spending 5 weeks on Chagos Archipelago, doing nothing but exploring. I found an old slave village that had everything a village needs: Prison, cemetery, bakery, church and all in ruins. If you should have any questions fell free to mail me.

In all my travelling this one was the most fascinating.
