Madagascar

After four months at sea I arrived at a small island called Nosy Be, where the town was called Hell Ville. But it sure wasn’t hell! It was the first time in four months that I again met civilization - saw cars, other people; a very strange feeling. Madagascar is an old French colony so the language and much of the architecture was French. Originally Madagascar was attached to the African continent so therefore you will find a lot of animals and plants that has been extinct in Africa for many years, but still lives on in Madagascar. Very few tourists come as far as Madagascar so the people are very curious and friendly, but unless you speak French the conversation will be in terms of smiles - of which you will find plenty of in Madagascar.
