My first visit to the Southern part of the African
continent started very well. I flew in to Johannesburg and hooked up
with a couple of real cool English guys very quickly. A cool part of
travelling sometimes don’t show up until your travelling is over, I
still keep in touch with these two English fellows. I had planned to
spend a few weeks in SA, but the good time flew by and I didn’t get
away until five weeks later. But time is not an object when you are on
the road. SA is divided into many minor areas and even small countries.
There are large modern cities, mountains, Soweto, poor back alleys,
blacks/whites. Contrastive is a well-suited name for SA. But this
contractiveness is in my mouth positive words, it makes a visit there
very special. SA is the richest country in Africa, at least in financial
terms. Could be because the Dutch were there as colonists. The reason
for the Dutch being there was that their ships often rounded Cape The
Good Hope and needed to be able to go ashore in peace. |
